Who are we?
TULUA are a traditional Irish fusion band hailing from the southeast of Ireland. Meaning ‘Becoming More‘, TULUA have been deeply exploring and sharing their music which has achieved them national and international success. Since their EP release in 2020 they have played around the world, at festivals such as Milwaukee Irish Fest, La Crosse Irish Fest, Temple Bar Tradfest, Kilkenny Tradfest, Phil Murphy Weekend, and supporting renown acts such as Atlantic Arc, Fergal Scahill & Ryan Molloy, Cormac Begley, and many more, whilst also exclusively performing to their sold out concerts in the National Opera House. They have been on shows such as the internatinally successful ‘Ireland with Michael’ which premiers on PBS and also appear regulary on radio stations across the country and have been shortlisted in Hot Press’ ‘Irish Music of the Month’ in 2021.
Through their involvement within the tradtional Irish music world, TULUA discovered a strong passion for bringing traditional tunes and songs to the forefront of fusion and to explore the possibilities within their roots. They carefully blend this with other genres to create a sound unique to them with many describing their music as ‘beautifully mystical‘ and ‘full of driving energy‘. They look foreward to sharing their musical journey with everyone as they explore and express the possibilities within Irish traditional music.
Cian O Grady
Wexford born Cian O’ Grady is a multi-instrumentalist who brings a driving force to Irish music. While developing his passion through years of local sessions, he progressed his style with the Irish bouzouki, guitar, banjo and later finding a passion for music technology and recording. He has won several awards throughout the years ranging from the All-Ireland Fleadh winnings to scholarship awards for his studies in Music Technology.
Kayleigh Moran
Kayleigh Moran is a renown fiddle player around Ireland with her presence in the Irish trad scene being prominent from an early age. Her intricate and driven style of fiddle playing holds the center of attention for many while being an integral part to the group as well as her unique, Celtic voice which has led her to achieve several awards over the years including the All-Ireland Fleadh.
Caoimhe Moran
With several All-Ireland titles in her name, Caoimhe Moran has made an impressive mark in the traditional music world from a young age. Being a multi-instrumentalist, she has brought herself to a distinctive level of playing with the Irish harp, concertina and piano. Her style brings energetic and delicate layers to the band as well as her in depth knowledge with music as a whole.
Diurmuid Murphy
Diurmuid Murphy is a name known to many in the world of Irish flute playing with his expressive slow airs and engaging session playing. Alongside playing mandolin, his style is instantly noticeable with his unique flairs and polished ornamentation to Irish tunes which has managed to achieve multiple All-Ireland titles in the Fleadh, of which he contributes to being a central aspect to the band.
